What does born again really mean?

John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

The word ';again'; (anothen) in Greek means ';from above';, so born from above.

John 3:4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born? John 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. John 3:6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

We all are born of the flesh and water, the womb. You must be born from above or the Spirit. God's Word is His Spirit. I pray that helps you. Sow to your spirit by studying His Word which is God's Spirit.

KEEP MY WORDS

John 14:23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.

NOTICE; WE will come, make OUR abode with him. What does born again really mean?
The phrase ';born again'; literally means ';born from above.'; Nicodemus had a real need. He needed a change of his heart--a spiritual transformation. New birth, being born again, is an act of God whereby eternal life is imparted to the person who believes (2 Corinthians 5:17; Titus 3:5; 1 Peter 1:3; 1 John 2:29; 3:9; 4:7; 5:1-4, 18). John 1:12,13 indicates that ';born again'; also carries the idea ';to become children of God'; through trust in the name of Jesus Christ.

The question logically comes, ';Why does a person need to be born again?'; The Apostle Paul in Ephesians 2:1 says, ';And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins...'; To the Romans in Romans 3:23, the Apostle wrote, ';For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.'; So, a person needs to be born again in order to have their sins forgiven and have a relationship with God.

How does that come to be? Ephesians 2:8,9 states, ';For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works lest any man should boast.'; When one is ';saved,'; he/she has been born again, spiritually renewed, and is now a child of God by right of new birth. Trusting in Jesus Christ, the One who paid the penalty of sin when He died on the cross, is what it means to be ';born again'; spiritually. ';Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creation...'; (2 Corinthians 5:17a).What does born again really mean?
converted with the Holy Spirit living within the person
“Believe in God. Believe in God the Eternal Father. He is the great Governor of the universe, but He is our Father and our God to whom we may go in prayer. We are His sons and daughters. Have you ever really thought that you were a child of God and that you have something of divinity within you?

“Believe in God and be not faithless. Worship Him in spirit and in truth. Believe in Him. Read His word and follow His teachings.

“Believe in Jesus Christ. … He is the Son of God, who came to earth, who left the royal courts on high and came and dwelt among men and gave His life for each of us, for you and for me. It is through Him that we approach the Father. Be not faithless, but believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, the Savior and the Redeemer of the world”
Back up to John 3. 1 It is an initiation. Remeber he also said, These and greater things shall ye do,
It is a second birth that is spiritual (John 3:3). To accept Christ as Lord and Savior and to commit your life to Him (1 Peter 1:23)
It means we must be born of women's womb (water and the holy spirit). There are some who came into this world another way. This is explained in the book of Jude. It is also eluded to in John chapter 10. Quote '; The man who does not enter the sheep pen (world) by the gate (woman's womb), but climbs in by some other way, the same is a liar and a thief. Satan is a liar and the father of lies. Agree or no?
The phrase literally means '; born above';. We all need a spiritual transformation or regeneration produced by the Holy Spirit. Born again also carries the idea of becoming the children of God through trust in the name of incarnate Word. : )
